PAPERGRID CHANGELOG
What changed, when, and why.
A dated record of production improvements to PaperGrid's browser PDF tools, technical controls, tests and public evidence.
Entries describe released behavior rather than planned features. Material limitations remain documented on the relevant tool or research page.
Bulk page actions and one-step reverse order
Organize PDF added accessible multi-page selection for bulk clockwise rotation, duplication and removal, plus one-step whole-document reversal. Every action remains browser-local, keeps at least one output page and can be restored with the existing 20-step undo history.
Monthly evidence, accessibility and measurement refresh
PaperGrid increased small-text and button contrast, converted llms.txt references to standard Markdown links, reran all three deterministic benchmark harnesses, refreshed the iLovePDF comparison, and added privacy-safe later-day return and broad AI-source counters without storing document data or raw referrers.
Visual Organize PDF workspace
Organize PDF replaced its typed page-order field with a local visual grid. Users can drag or accessibly move pages, rotate, duplicate or remove them, add movable blank pages and undo the 20 most recent changes before exporting a new PDF.
Lighter first load with explicit offline preparation
PaperGrid stopped downloading the full PDF engine on every first visit. Merge PDF now provides a Prepare offline use control with a verified ready state, so ordinary visitors receive the lighter interface while offline users deliberately cache the required same-origin application files.
Add blank pages at an exact PDF position
PaperGrid added a sixteenth working browser tool for inserting one to 20 genuinely empty pages at the beginning, end or after a chosen PDF page. Blank pages can match the nearby page or use A4 or US Letter dimensions, and the source file remains unchanged.
Machine-readable product identity and full indexability audit
PaperGrid published a stable JSON-LD product profile connecting its verified capabilities, creator, help pages and original evidence. A Googlebot-style audit checks every sitemap URL for status, canonical, indexability, valid schema and blocking challenges.
PaperGrid and iLovePDF comparison refresh
The independent comparison was rechecked against current iLovePDF security, terms, FAQ, merge, documentation and desktop pages. It now covers PaperGrid's unified page controls, iLovePDF's documented online and desktop processing models, signed-document retention exception and primary-source links.
Rotate or remove individual pages while merging
The unified Merge PDF organizer added per-page clockwise rotation and removal controls alongside cross-file drag ordering and accessible earlier/later buttons. The output applies each visible page plan locally, including during returning-user offline operation.
Reproducible cross-file page-order benchmark
PaperGrid published a deterministic six-page browser study, CC0 machine-readable dataset and local reproduction lab. All eight checks passed for the planned C2, A1, B2, C1, A2, B1 order, selectable text, geometry, reopening and rendering, within the documented limits.
Cross-file visual page organizer
Merge PDF added one final output-order grid for selected pages from every source PDF. Users can drag page cards across file boundaries or use accessible earlier and later buttons, and the local merger follows that exact order online or offline.
Selected-page merge workflow guide
PaperGrid published a dedicated guide for visually choosing pages from multiple PDFs, mapping thumbnail selections to typed ranges, understanding source-file ordering, and reviewing the merged result.
Visual page selection for Merge PDF
Merge PDF added on-demand previews for every page in each source file. Users can include or exclude pages by clicking accessible thumbnails or continue using typed page ranges, including during returning-user offline operation.
Canonical discovery and research hub
PaperGrid added permanent canonical-host redirects, published a research hub for reproducible studies and datasets, expanded Merge PDF answers for no-upload and offline intent, and added a reusable mobile layout audit.
First-page previews before merging
Merge PDF began rendering a local first-page preview for every chosen source file. The PDF renderer and worker were added to the returning-user offline cache and verified at a 390-pixel mobile viewport.
Browser-enforced security controls
PaperGrid introduced a nonce-based Content Security Policy, same-origin script and connection rules, frame and object blocking, restrictive device permissions, and a public security page with verification steps and limitations.
Selected-page and offline PDF merging
Merge PDF added per-file page ranges and tested returning-user offline operation after one successful online visit. File order and page selections remain attached when sources are reordered.
Reproducible PDF benchmarks
PaperGrid published synthetic compression and merge-integrity studies with methods, machine-readable JSON, reproducibility tools and explicit boundaries on what each result proves.
