PAPERGRID WORKFLOW GUIDE
A practical, privacy-first workflow
PaperGrid's supported merger reads the selected PDFs with browser file APIs, combines their pages on your device and creates a local download. The document bytes are not posted to a PaperGrid processing server.
A privacy claim should be testable. PaperGrid serves its processing code from the same website and records only small tool-action counters. You can inspect network requests yourself or load the merger, disconnect the network, and process a non-sensitive test file.
Open Merge PDFSTEP BY STEP
How to do it
- Open PaperGrid Merge PDF and, for testing, choose two non-sensitive PDFs.
- Open your browser's developer tools and select the Network panel before processing.
- Clear the request list, select Process in browser and inspect the requests created during the merge.
- Confirm that no request contains either PDF file; the output should appear as a browser download.
- For a second check, reload the page, choose test files, disconnect the network and merge them after the required code has loaded.
What PaperGrid sends
PaperGrid records the tool or guide identifier and a simple action such as open, process, success or error. These counters help identify useful or broken tools and content. They do not include file names, document contents, referrers or values entered into tool settings.
What stays in the browser
The File objects selected from your device, the bytes read from those files, the in-memory PDF objects and the generated output stay within the browser process for supported tools. The browser releases that memory after you leave or close the page.
- Source PDF bytes
- File names
- Page content
- Watermark text and page selections
- Generated PDF bytes
What local processing does not guarantee
Local processing does not make an unsafe device safe, remove malware from a PDF, authorize you to handle a document or control what happens after you download and share the result. Managed workplace browsers may also log downloads under company policy.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Common questions
Does PaperGrid upload PDFs before merging them?
No. The supported merger reads and combines the selected PDF files in your browser.
Can I verify that no PDF upload occurs?
Yes. Inspect the browser Network panel while merging non-sensitive test files, or disconnect after the page and processing code have loaded and run the merge offline.
Does PaperGrid collect any usage data?
PaperGrid records only the tool or guide identifier and a basic action counter. File names, document contents, referrers and form values are excluded.
